UWASNET has joined hands with other non-state actors to raise our voices for water under the #Voiceforwater campaign that was launched on February 1st, 2021 worldwide.
This campaign was initiated by the Watershed partners www.watershed.nl and is about highlighting the power civil society organizations (CSOs) have in driving change for Sustainable Development Goal 6: ensuring clean water and sanitation for all.
It calls on CSOs, governments and funders to re-prioritize efforts and support the civic space by strengthening the capacity of CSOs to engage, participate and shape the governance and the policies in the sector.
UWASNET is part of the watershed partners having been part of the implementing partners under IRC who implemented the watershed program from 2016 to 2020. Under the Watershed programme, UWASNET contributed to improving governance in WASH and IWRM through strengthening the capacity of civil society to lobby and advocate towards government and other duty-bearers. The program led to improvements in the quality and sustainability of WASH services, change in policy and practice achieved by evidence-based lobbying and advocacy.
UWASNET was an implementing partner of IRC.
