UWASNET has continued to deliver on its mandate in the sector in-spite of the on-going national lock-down. The 42-day national lock-down is part of the national response to Covid-19 aimed at curbing its further spread within the country. Among the restrictions are public gathering including meetings, inter and intra-district and city movements that have affected the operations of a number of organizations.
However, with support from its partners and a re-adjustment to the current circumstances, UWASNET has continued to engage with its members and partners virtually. Prior to the lock-down, UWASNET had planned physical regional meetings however, with the existing total national lock-down, this was re-planned to take place virtually, a first of its kind for the network.
Five online regional meetings for members in the regions of Karamoja, Rwenzori, Mid Eastern, South Western and Teso were conducted on June 30th, July 1st, 2nd, 7th and 13th, 2021 on Zoom.
